Kevin De Bruyne’s first-half masterclass was enough for Belgium to beat Wales 2-1 in the Nations League and leave Rob Page’s side needing a win over Poland on Sunday to avoid relegation from Group A4.
Wales failed to recover after De Bruyne gave Belgium the lead (10) with an exquisite left-footed finish on the edge of the box and had no answer to the Man City playmaker as he continued to wreak havoc before the break, setting up former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi (37) with a low cross to make it 2-0.
Kieffer Moore’s early second-half goal (50) gave Wales hope of staging a comeback but not even the introduction of captain Gareth Bale off the bench could clinch an equaliser for a depleted Wales side that produced a spirited second-half display in their penultimate game before the World Cup.
Eden Hazard put up a brilliant display against Wales last night and it was not in vein has Chelsea received the message of his performance

The Chelsea transfer rumours regarding the possible return of Eden Hazard refuse to go away and now it is being claimed that the Blues and Real Madrid are negotiating a possible loan switch
The 31-year-old, who has less than two years left to run on his Los Blancos contract, left the Blues in the summer of 2019 for the Spanish giants for a fee believed to be in excess of £100million.
However, since the Belgian made the move to the Spanish capital, things have been far from ideal. Hazard has struggled with injury problems throughout his time at the Santiago Bernabeu and has only made seven starts in La Liga this term.
Chelsea has been making plan to build up thier squad to fans expectations since Todd Boehly administration took over from Roman Abramovich
Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have began their reign, following the collapse of the Roman Abramovich administration earlier in the year, with a £250million transfer window and the sacking of their fan favourite manager.
Chelsea have officially announced their new head coach Graham Potter after an agreement was made with Brighton and Hove Albion on Thursday, costing the Blues £20million in compensation.
Potter replaces Thomas Tuchel following the German’s shocking dismissal on Wednesday, and is expected to take charge of the match versus Fulham on the weekend, despite only meeting his players less than 48 hours before.
Thomas Tuchel wasn’t able to build a working relationship with Boehly after multiple disagreements regarding transfers and how they each believes the club should be run created irreversible tension between the pair.
After the news of Tuchel’s sacking broke, there were a lot of names swimming around the rumour mill as to who would succeed him, but the club’s new owners had been set on the Englishman from the beginning.
Thomas Tuchel’s dismissal came as a huge shock to Chelsea supporters, who assumed a summer of blind backing from new chairman Todd Boehly, would signal that he trusted their head coach to get them through a poor start to the season.
But not 24 hours after the defeat against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League. the German was sacked, and then a day after that, his replacement Graham Potter was announced.
According to a report from The Athletic, Boehly described Tuchel as a ‘nightmare to work with’ to another league executive, with disagreements over transfers and their contrasting views on how the club should be run.
Thomas Tuchel leaving Chelsea also meant the departure of his assistants Zsolt Low and Arno Michels, allowing space for Potter to bring his assistant Billy Reid, with whom he has worked with since joining Swedish side Östersund in 2013.
But in a surprising turn of events, Potter has not only brought Reid, but also first-team coaches Bjorn Hamberg and Bruno, goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts and assistant head of recruitment Kyle Macaulay – all from Brighton – which emphasises Potter’s intent to reinvent the Chelsea team from the goalkeeper all the way up to the forward line.
Graham Potter led his first training session as the new Chelsea manager today despite their upcoming game against Fulham being postponed after the passing of Queen Elizabeth The Second.
The English manager has continued training as the Blues host RB Salzburg at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday in Chelsea’s second game of the Champions League group stages.
Potter will have to try and get the team to bounce back after their recent 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb under Thomas Tuchel’s management in Chelsea’s first European match of the season.
Potter undoubtedly has all the tactical prowess to dodge the swinging axe because to say that he’s opened people’s eyes with his work at Brighton & Hove Albion would be a huge understatement.
While potter keep working on building Chelsea to fans expectations, the recent performance of the Belgium star has send a message to Graham Potter. Watch the video below
