Oleksandr Zinchenko finally sign for Arsenal
Mikel Arteta has closed in on Arsenal’s fifth signing of the transfer window, with Oleksandr Zinchenko set to pen a deal at the Emirates Stadium this summer. The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from the Premier League champions as his contract, which expires in 2024, at the Etihad begins to cast doubt over his future.
Oleksandr Zinchenko has joined Arsenal from Manchester City after £32m deal agreed; Ukrainian has won four Premier League titles with Manchester City but only made 15 league appearances last season; Arsenal have already signed Gabriel Jesus from Pep Guardiola’s side this summer
The formalities has now been completed and his move becomes official, with the final stages of his medical and paperwork all complete and officially announced done already
The Gunners are set to pay £30m up front with £2m in add-ons, while personal terms are not expected to be a problem.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has described Oleksandr Zinchenko as an “exceptional footballer” ahead of the £32m move from Manchester City.
Speaking after a 3-1 win over Orlando City during the Gunners’ pre-season tour in the USA, Arteta said: “As you’ve seen, he is here [in Orlando]. There are still a few formalities to get everything completed but we’re really happy to have him.
The £30million deal will make the highly-rated Ukrainian the second City player to swap the Etihad for the Emirates after Gabriel Jesus made the same move earlier this summer.
