The Nineteen-year-old forward Marquinhos joined Arsenal from Sao Paulo on a long-term contract earlier before the season.

The young Brazilian youth international, full name Marcus Vinicius Oliveira Alencar, developed through the Sao Paulo youth system, progressing into the first team squad and making his first team debut as an 18-year-old last July.

Since arriving the team, he has shown a great performance in their preseason and in the just started premier League II

The host, West Ham United opened the score line with a goal from Kamarai in the 13th minutes which was equalised by a brilliant heading of Marquinhos to balance up the score line

The second goals come in minutes after that from Marquinhos again, scoring another brilliant heading in the 44th minutes to give Arsenal a perfect lead on the first half of the game.

Marquinhos made 33 first team appearances during his time with Sao Paulo and was a part of the squad which won the Compeonato Paulista in 2021.

The young forward, who has represented Brazil at under-16 and under-17 levels, will travel to London from Brazil in the coming weeks to join up with his new team mates for pre-season training.

Report from GOAL confirm that the starlet has signed a four-year deal with the option of extending for an additional season.

Marquinhos is reported to have signed a deal that runs for five years.

Marquinhos has been used mainly as a winger for Sao Paulo, but he can also play as a centre-forward.

He is comfortable on either wing, but is left footed and his preferred role is wide out on the right so he can cut inside on his favoured foot.

He broke into the Sao Paulo senior side at the age of 18 and made his debut against Flamengo last July.
