Chelsea are bidding to make it back-to-back victories at the start of their pre-season tour of the United States when they take on Charlotte FC

The Blues opened their preparations for the 2022-23 campaign with a 2-1 victory over Club America on Saturday, while Charlotte suffered a 3-2 loss to Inter Miami in MLS last time out.

Charlotte were only formed in December 2019, and the club are playing in their first ever MLS season this term, picking up 26 points from 21 matches to sit eighth in the Eastern Conference.

Christian Lattanzio’s side will enter this contest off the back of a 3-2 loss at Inter Miami on Saturday, with the home side coming from two goals behind to secure all three points.

The Blues thought they had their second victory in a row on American soil however their MLS opponents won a penalty in the 90th minute which Mexican striker Daniel Rios smashed past Edouard Mendy.
