“best free kick”; Watch Brilliant free kick from Arsenal legend that stretches Mendy to save
It was Orlando, it was July and the joke about the Florida Cup being played out in the city of Disneyworld and Mickey Mouse is an obvious one.
But let’s be clear – for all that this was a pre-season kickabout – Arsenal already look a million miles ahead of Chelsea in the race for the magic kingdom of the top four.
Chelsea suffered a 4-0 defeat by rivals Arsenal in Orlando, leading to an inquest about their dismal display.
Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Albert Sambi Lokonga all scored for Mikel Arteta’s side in a match that threatened to be a rout by half-time.
Arsenal were ahead on the 15 minute mark following a misplaced pass from Trevoh Chalobah. Gabriel Jesus was found in acres of space before chipping over Edouard Mendy to put the Gunners infront.
10 minutes before half-time, Arsenal found themselves two ahead as Gabriel Martinelli found Martin Odegaard, who finished with a low left-footed strike.
Just after the hour mark, Arsenal made it three despite Mendy’s best efforts. A double save from Martinelli and Xhaka saw the goalkeeper do his best to keep the scoreline at 2-0 but a rebound saw Bukayo Saka convert as the scoreline became embarrassing.
Edouard Mendy Made a big save from Bukayo Saka’s sixth-minute shot and couldn’t do much about the goals. However, his distribution was poor and he gave the ball away for the second.

Chelsea were indebted to Edouard Mendy at the Orlando United States Florida Cup final and afterwards the goalkeeper had his say on a good day’s work for he and the team.
